Green Belt Training Courses

Why Lean Six Sigma?

For decades the world’s leading organisations have driven substantial cost savings through the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma to improve their business processes.

With their respective focus on waste removal and the minimisation of variation, the two methodologies are complementary and can be combined to deliver considerably better results by intelligently targeting activity where the greatest opportunities lie.

Why Become a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt?

A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a valuable addition to any organisation.

As a qualified practitioner with a broad knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques, they are able to analyse business processes, prioritise areas for improvement and then manage the successful realisation of the benefits identified.

They are also able to provide effective support to Black Belts implementing wider improvement projects and make good use of Yellow Belts within their own activities.

Not surprisingly, those experienced in both Lean and Six Sigma are in great demand.

Who should attend?

Although both Lean and Six Sigma originated in manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma is now being successfully implemented in an ever-expanding number of industry sectors and disciplines, whether product or service related. As a result, Lean Six Sigma training is relevant to anyone seeking to develop their career and to any organisation wishing to significantly up-skill its employees.

Recent training participants have come from areas as diverse as retail, logistics, health, finance, human resources, purchasing and marketing in both private and public sectors.

Delegates with previous experience of either Lean or Six Sigma will find the course provides skills complementary to their current toolset.

All Unipart Lean Six Sigma training is equally applicable to those with a technical or non-technical background irrespective of delegates’ individual level of academic achievement.

Putting knowledge into practice

The focus of Green Belt Training designed and conducted by Unipart’s dedicated Lean Six Sigma Team, is the practical application of about 30 tools and techniques taught, rather than just an academic exposure to them.

Prior to the beginning of the course, the Team will liaise with delegates to identify an appropriate process issue from their own environment that can be worked on both during and after the programme to demonstrate the application of Lean Six Sigma and to deliver hands-on experience in its implementation.

Post-programme support, available via email or face to face, assures delegates of every opportunity to put their learning into practice, demonstrating potential improvements, identifying the biggest opportunities and realising them to become a certified Green Belt practitioner.

Unipart’s Lean Six Sigma Team will also help to identify individuals with the aptitude to progress to Black Belt training.

The course was very well run, with excellent use of exercises to energise the candidates, and good value as well compared to previous courses that I have been on. A very happy customer.

Programme Structure

Green Belt training programmes from Unipart’s Lean Six Sigma Team take place over five days during which delegates will experience an engaging blend of presentation, activity, discussion and both individual and team-based case studies.

Throughout the week delegates will use Inform, Unipart’s proprietary, Excel-based training software programme. Inform includes all the statistical functionality required – normality testing, confidence intervals, handing Poisson data, mean and standard deviation etc. – but in a highly visual and far more accessible format, than statistical packages. All delegates will receive a copy of the software for their future use.

Programmes are fully tailored to the requirements of the delegates attending. To find out more, download the course outline:
